In this section we show some of the projects that Solidarios con Arua/Arua Elkartasuna has carried out in the West Nile region, particularly in the Districts of Arua, Moyo and Adjumani, in the last 32 years.

METU DISPENSARY
(Approximate investment of €5,000)
The necessary funds are provided to complete the construction of the medical clinic, given that, with the work already well advanced, the funds ran out and the health center could not be operational

ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION OF THE SOCIAL CENTER OF ARUA
(Approximate investment of €7,000)
Most of the works on the centre integrated into the Arua Catholic Center were already completed, so some extra funds were provided to carry out a complete electrical installation. In gratitude for the contribution made, the dining room that is part of the centre is called “Cafetería”

ACQUISITION OF OFF-ROAD VEHICLE
(Approximate investment of €25,000)
The strong link between Solidarios con Arua/Arua Elkartasuna and the local contact Grace Waigo made it possible to acquire this vehicle, mainly motivated by the need to make his work in Uganda easier, since he is a person with many responsibilities that require traveling continuously. At Waigo’s own proposal, a pick-up was chosen with which both work and passenger transport is possible

CONSTRUCTION OF THE MOYO MULTIPURPOSE TRAINING CENTER
(Approximate investment of €132,000)
d is one of the largest projects of the NGO in Uganda to date. The purpose of this centre was to offer the local population a space in which to meet and share their reflections, thus facilitating social development with their own agenda. On many occasions, the participants of the meetings and conferences come from remote locations, without easy access to transportation, which makes it necessary to have a centre with a comprehensive service. Thus, there are multipurpose rooms, kitchen-dining room and bedroom blocks.
The list of activities is very long, as is logical for a centre created in the early 2000s. Over time, fortune has wanted this same infrastructure to serve as the venue for the VMP project from 2014 to 2020.
In recognition and thanks to the contribution made from Navarra, in the main hall of the centre you can see a painting with the coat of arms and flag of Navarra together with those of Uganda. There is also a plaque that explains the origin of the funds.
Clicking here you can see a 3D map of the place.

ACQUISITION OF OFF-ROAD VEHICLE
(Approximate investment of €30,000)
The harsh roads of the Ma’di Subregion forced, in 2006, to replace the badly damaged pick-up with a Toyota Rav4. The purpose is to continue supporting the mobility of the main local contact of Solidarios con Arua – Arua Elkartasuna.

ADJUMANI MULTIPURPOSE TRAINING CENTER
(Approximate investment of €147,000)
This project was carried out thanks to the support and endorsement of the Government of Navarra and the Villava City Council, as well as other foundations and associations from various countries. What is supported here is the creation of a centre with similar features to the one in Moyo. From Navarra, funds are sent to build the kitchen-dining room and two blocks of bedrooms in different phases.
Once again, in recognition of the efforts made by the people of Navarra, one of the bedroom blocks is called Nafarroa.
Subsequently, it was necessary to redo the roof of the kitchen-dining room, since the construction was not carried out with the required quality and there were a good number of leaks (contribution from Solidarios con Arua/Arua Elkartasuna of €7,000).
Clicking here you can see a 3D map of the place.

MOYO MISSION HEALTH CENTER
(Approximate investment of €30,000)
It is a grade IV centre (the highest grade in Uganda, the hospital being the only medical centre with greater approval than centres of this grade), privately owned but not for profit. The centre has an outpatient department, but also beds for admissions and even has a minor theater. Funds have recently been obtained for the construction of a maternal-infant clinic, whose purpose is to assist women before, during and after childbirth, thus reducing infant and maternal mortality. Rooms have also been set up for the diagnosis and follow-up of HIV/AIDS cases.
The interventions carried out have made it possible to equip the operating room, build a new medical waste incinerator, with a greater capacity than the original one and further away, and the aforementioned maternal and child clinic.

MOYO BABIES HOME ORPHANAGE
(Approximate investment of €15,000)
It is a centre aimed at orphaned girls and boys up to 5 years old. Substantial improvements have been made in infrastructure and services: the centre has pressurized water thanks to an elevated water tank, it now has a solar hot water system and mosquito nets have been installed on the windows, in addition to furnishing a new recreation block inside. In this project we want to highlight the important collaboration of the Gemma Maitia Foundation of Villava (Navarre).

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS
(Approximate investment of €12,000)
Solidarios con Arua – Arua Elkartasuna has been supporting the studies of young Ugandans for 12 years now, thanks to the contributions made by individuals and private institutions. The programme detects people who have shown themselves to be committed to their studies but who are going to drop out for economic reasons, completing the payment of their registration fees and thus making it possible for them to continue. As women have far fewer opportunities than men, scholarships for women are prioritized.

ACQUISITION OF MOTORCYCLES
(Approximate investment of €7,000)
The necessary funds are provided for the purchase of several motorcycles within the mobility project of the VMP, Manuela Project and Ruddu Hwe.

CONSTRUCTION OF A SCHOOL OF ARTS
(Approximate investment of €75,000)
It involves the construction of a building that houses the music classes that the local counterpart has been carrying out for the last 7 years at the Moyo Multipurpose Center. Thanks to the subsidy granted by the Pamplona City Council, this project will become a reality during the year 2021. It meant a great boost for the project, as well as the opportunity to reach higher levels of responsibility and development of the activities.

PURCHASE AND ADAPTATION OF VEHICLE
(Investment of €18,550)
In 2021, an imported second-hand vehicle was purchased, later adapted according to Ugandan standards to transport a total of 12 people, including the driver. The acquisition is made thanks to the support of the Pamplona City Council through the call for aid for development cooperation projects for the year 2020.

RUDDU HWE AGRICULTURAL SCHOOL
(Approximate investment of €35,000)
The main activities of the project include the creation of an agrarian school, the creation of a group of farmers (probably under the guise of a cooperative), the provision of technical and marketing support to participating farmers, the joint distribution of agricultural production for promote the local economy and the continuous training of the participants.

VEHICLE REPLACEMENT
(Approximate investment of €10,000)
Within our mobility programme of the project we have been forced to acquire a new vehicle to avoid more expenses for breakdowns of the main vehicle of the project up to now.

FUTURE SPECIAL NEEDS CENTER
(Approximate investment of €43,500)
New building within the Bilinyo Cultural Center, specifically designed to house the activities of the Manuela Project. It will be built thanks to the support of the Villava Council and will be a way to offer services to more people in need.
